One of Virginia’s premier wineries, Linden Vineyards is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, 60 miles west of Washington DC. The entire wine production of 4,000 cases comes exclusively from three distinct vineyard sites. Linden is best known for single vineyard bottlings of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Bordeaux variety red blends.

We ship via UPS to Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, DC.; and have wines available for pick up at the winery by prior arrangement.

Our tastings center on terroir, vintage, and wine age and how these influence wine style. Linden’s tastings compare and contrast wines from different vineyard sites and growing seasons.

New Fall Comparative Tasting
As the weather shifts, so do our wine preferences. This weekend Linden is introducing our fall lineup. These wines have been chosen to pair well with cool, crisp weather. Wabi Sabi is back. The 2021 vintage has a powerful texture with lots of savory notes. Young and old is the theme with two Village Chardonnays. A comparison of Petit Mansengs shows how vintage can play a big role in wine style. If you like spicy foods this is your wine. Finally with two 2021 reds, we contrast a fresh Claret with the fine tannins of Avenius Red.

November 2025 Winegrower's Selection: 2022 Riesling (pre-release), 2019 Avenius Chardonnay, 2022 Boisseau Viognier (pre-release), 2022 Hardscrabble Red (pre-release), 2022 Claret, and 2019 Petit Verdot.

FROM OUR CELLAR TO YOUR DOOR
We've heard from many of you that busy lives have made frequent visits to Linden more difficult. If you've missed special releases and small-lot bottlings, Linden’s subscription offering may be of interest.
The Winegrower’s Selection will include six-bottle shipments twice a year of small-lot bottlings, unusual wines, and vintages of which we are particularly proud. The November 2025 shipment will include A2022 Riesling (pre-release), 2019 Avenius Chardonnay, 2022 Boisseau Viognier (pre-release), 2022 Hardscrabble Red (pre-release), 2022 Claret, 2019 Petit Verdot.
Shipments go out twice a year in April and November. Currently, the cost ranges from $260-$325 per shipment (6 bottles, two times per year), plus any applicable taxes and shipping fees. The selection in April 2025 is $289 and will ship the first week of April. We via UPS ship to Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Toothsome, But Not Photogenic
Red harvest started yesterday. The clusters were not pristine. The grapes were a bit gnarly looking. The vines look somewhat bedraggled. The crop is small. But the flavors, ripeness and concentration are remarkable.
